| Joanna Eberhart is a thoroughly modern woman on her way to the top. Until one day, when her successful career comes crashing down around her and her marriage starts falling apart. She and her husband Walter decide to move and start over in the perfect community of Stepford, Connecticut. Walter loves it there and is especially fond the no-girls-allowed Stepford Men's Association, but Joanna feels strangely out of place among the wives of Stepford. Each is perfectly manicured, amply-chested, completely domestic, and utterly subservient to her husband: everything that Joanna is not. She finds friendship in fellow quirky feminist Bobbie Markowitz and flamboyantly gay Roger, and the two survive the oddities of Stepford life together. But Joanna knows that she is on track for being transformed into one of the Stepford Wives, and time is running out! |
