| John Carruthers (John Wayne) is a simple cowboy who is suspected of robbing of the town’s reserve of money. When John hears that the sheriff Jake Withers (George Hayes) is after him, he flees into the desert. It is not long until Jake catches up with John though, and as he is about to arrest John, John valiantly rescues him from a gruesome death. John explains to the sheriff that he did not commit the crime, and as the two ride back to town they understand that John was framed by a cattle baron named Malgrove (Edward Peil) who is planning to heist the town’s supplies and have his way over the entire area. |
