| Stanley (Spencer Tracy) and Ellie Banks (Joan Bennett) have just begun to relax after the hectic and very busy marriage of their daughter Kay (Elizabeth Taylor). Stanley had just started getting used to the idea that his little girl was a grown woman with a husband. But when Kay announces that her parents are going to become grandparents, life turns chaotic once again. Excited at the prospect of a grandchild, Ellie helps Kay plan a nursery and get other things ready for their new arrival. But Stanley, although excited in his own way, sees this as a sign he is getting older. And when the baby is born, Stanley faces the fact that his grandson doesn’t seem to like him leaving Stanley to wonder if he will ever bond with the child. |
