Plot
Steven Kovak (Matthew Broderick) has just been dumped by his girlfriend Robin (Leslie Mann) and moves into his own apartment. Upon moving in, Steven orders the cable guy out and promptly tries to bribe him for some free cable. Chip (Jim Carrey), the cable guy, takes that as a hint and thinks that Steven wants to become best buds with him. That's when things turn into a nightmare for Steven. Chip is on his door-step day and night and takes this friendship thing a little too serious. When Steven starts sending negative signals to Chip, the cable guy is determined to pretty much ruin Steven's life.
