| Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy) is a portly, but friendly Wellman College professor, made fun of in both life and love. Sherman's experiments with hamsters have created a new miracle weight loss formula, but it actually does more than drop the pounds as his lesser self is also a much different, less likable, person. Sherman is enamored with Miss Carla Purty (Jada Pinkett), but is much too unsure of himself without the weight loss potion, though he tries to lose weight in order to go out with her he is unsuccessful and becomes Buddy, his lighter alter-ego. In the process of trying to capture the heart of Miss Purty and save Wellman College's science department funding he must decide whether he is better as Sherman or Buddy. |
