Not finding much work in acting, Jake (Craig Wasson) gets a job house sitting. While house sitting, he observes a woman in the next house that routinely disrobes in front of her window. Jake begins to fantasize about her but doesn't meet her. He begins to suspect she may be in danger from watching her through the window. But he can't call the police since he has only gotten this impression while watching her from his window. When it seems like a crime has been committed, he contacts another actress (Melanie Griffith) to help him find out information on the woman and the men with whom she has been involved. Their investigative skills lead them deeper into a mystery they cannot control until it seems he has led himself and the other actress into a trap that could cost them both their lives.
