Plot
Valley Girl depicts the love story between Julie, a girl from the Valley in Southern California, and Randy, a punk rock boy she meets at a party. Randy's friend Fred overhears Julie's friends talking about the upcoming party while at the beach and he and Randy decide to crash the party. There, Randy meets Julie and sparks fly. The only problem is Julie's ex-boyfriend, Tommy. Tommy is jealous of the blossoming relationship between Julie and Randy, and begins plotting with Julie's friends Stacey, Loryn and Suzi to break up Julie and Randy. Julie and Randy begin dating, and spending a lot of time together, despite their differences. She learns to like the punk rock scene, and Randy learns to enjoy the life of a Valley girl. But with increasing pressure from her friends to break up with Randy, Julie turns to her parents for advice... should she take Tommy back? That's what her friends want her to do. If she goes back to Tommy, she'll be voted Prom Queen. Or, should she stay with Randy? Her heart tells her to stay with Randy, but her friends warn her if she stays with him, she can kiss her reputation goodbye. This movie was a modern day Romeo and Juliet story, with a rock and roll twist.
